Darwin rum - Foodie Father's Day gifts

Show Dad how much you appreciate him by sending a foodie Father’s Day gift from a South West indie

Darwin Citrus Spiced Rum, English Spirit Distillery

No ordinary spiced rum, Darwin is crafted in Cornwall from fermented 100 per cent sugarcane molasses. Half the premium base-spirit is distilled with juicy clementines, while the rest is distilled with English oak to create a unique flavour profile. It’s then distilled a second time with the zestiest of limes, sumptuous cherries, rich acacia honey, vanilla pods, fragrant hibiscus, star anise and cardamom.

As there are only 100 bottles of this limited-edition tipple available, you’ll have to be quick if you want to send one to Dad in time for Father’s Day.

The Port, Cheese & Chocolate Box, Circa 1924

This carefully curated collection from the food buffs at Circa 1924 contains all of the ingredients required for an indulgent night in.

A cracking cheeseboard supper is the centrepiece of this foodie bundle and consists of a selection of top-notch cheeses (including Sharpham Brie, Cornish Gouda and Godminster cheddar), plus rye crackers and a jar of apple, date and tamarind chutney. A bottle of Pocas Vintage Port is the perfect pairing for the fromage feast, which is finally rounded off with a selection of handmade dark chocolate and salted caramel rolos.

Conscious of the gift set’s carbon footprint, the Circa team have eschewed the traditional wicker presentation basket and will instead plant a tree for every box sold.

Luxury Claret Set, Wickhams Wine

Got Dad to thank for your excellent taste in wine? This Luxury Claret Set from south Devon’s Wickhams Wine is a fantastic gift for a connoisseur.

Wickhams’ founder Dan Farrell-Wright has chosen two of his all-time favourite classic full-bodied reds for this bespoke gift set which is packaged in a clasped wooden presentation case. The first pick is Lalande de Pomerol, a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc which results in a good balance of black fruits, toasty notes and sweet spice. The second is Montagne-Saint-Émilion, a classic French red with a deep ruby colour and soft nose of cherry, cassis and spice from oak aging.
