Beautiful country retreat in the Mendip Hills
This hotel is relaxing in every way – from the plentiful amounts of parking to the large, comfy rooms and views out over the surrounding golf course.
The family-owned hotel lies in the Somerset village of Midsomer Norton, on the edge of the Mendip Hills, and perfectly positioned for a visit to either Bath or Bristol. It has the space and facilities to provide either a short stayover or a longer break and it suits all dining, from coffee or drinks with friends to a quiet intimate dinner or a celebratory party.
After working in some of the country’s top-rated restaurants, it’s unsurprising that head chef Sean Horwood has earned the hotel’s restaurant two AA rosettes of its own. The rotating a la carte menu showcases the freshest seasonal produce, featuring elegant dishes such as wild sea bass linguine, jerusalem artichoke puree and salsify.
If you want to keep fit in-between dining there a nine hole golf course, an excellent health club with a state of the art gymnasium, pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi.
The restaurant offers a conservatory and terrace overlooking the golf course. Cream tea can be taken in the sumptuous hotel lounge next to the hotel garden. Longleat Safari Park is located 30 minutes away. Bath and Wells are 9 miles from the hotel and their attractions and history make them a great place to visit.
