Fine dining at Kentisbury Grange in the stunning North Devon countryside
With so few inspiring places for foodies to dine in North Devon, it comes as no surprise that the opening of The Coach House at Kentisbury Grange got the locals cheering. Now Michael Caines has taken over the helm and the restaurant has become The Coach House by Michael Caines, with head chef James Mason creating the two Michelin-starred chef’s signature dishes.
With Michael’s name over the door, and changes front of house too, expect to discover seriously good food, top notch service and a relaxed retreat on the edge of Exmoor. You can sit in the lofty upstairs room for pre-dinner cocktails or coffee and of course stay in the adjacent hotel which has 16 stunning bedrooms.
This is a great place to base yourself for a walking break with beautiful spots such as Heddon’s Mouth, Watersmeet and the west Exmoor coast in easy reach. It’s also close to the Victorian towns of Lynmouth and Lynton.
