Exmoor Distillery

Exmoor Distillery: spirits of distinction at the gateway to Exmoor

Following years of gin-fuelled travels, globetrotters John and Nicola Smith were inspired to begin an adventure a little closer to home. The result is Exmoor Distillery: a family-run gin emporium located amid the rolling hills of the Devon/Somerset border, where the couple craft the perfect sip they could never quite find on their world tour.

The gin alchemy going down inside the distillery reflects the magic of its moorland surroundings. An intriguing mix of ten carefully selected botanicals adds complexity to the distinctive and refined juniper notes in flagship drink, Northmoor Gin. Like it strong? The new Northmoor Navy Strength Gin delivers the same smooth and textured taste at a hefty 57 per cent ABV.

Don’t just take our word for it, either. Northmoor Gin scooped two awards in 2019: Taste of the West Commended, and Gin and Double Dutch Tonic Bronze at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC).

Nicola and John are keen to share their spirited passion, so they’ve flung wide the gates and opened the distillery to visitors during the week and some weekends. Future plans involve distillery tours (book us in) and branching into rum and other spirits.
