Liberty Coffee

Welcoming coffee haunt in the historic town of Launceston

The first thing you’ll notice about this Launceston coffee shop is owner Ben Statton’s utter enthusiasm and excitement about coffee.

Using a wide range of artisan South West roasters, Liberty Coffee’s ethos is to introduce its visitors to the many fascinating and changing flavours the bean has to offer. Just around the corner from the High Street, the cafe’s menu is short and sweet with black, white or filter, with the coffee origins and tasting notes available to browse on the board.

But don’t fret if you haven’t swotted up on the jargon, the baristas are more than happy to fill in any gaps in your coffee knowledge. It’s not just a place for serious chat either, with a light and airy décor you can simply relax with a good brew and soak up the chilled ambience.

For something a little different, try one of the real hot chocolates made from single origin cocoa.

Insider’s tips

Expertly baked cakes, made on the premises, are as special as the coffee – we recommend the bakewell tart.
