Picnic Coffee

Quirky Parisian cafe-inspired coffee spot in Bath

Inspired by the Parisian cafe scene, owner Tim Starks runs Picnic Coffee with a truly continental perspective. Open until late three times a week, his Bath cafe has become quite a social hub in the evenings, where a quality coffee can be enjoyed alongside a glass of wine.

Floor to ceiling windows mean it’s bright and airy inside, with colourful furniture and quirky features to catch the eye, such as the coffee and chilli plants and a large selection of travel guides. Coffee tasting notes behind the bar guide you on your coffee explorations and there’s a good selection of teas to be had, too.

By day, Picnic is a place to catch up on some work or to break up a shopping trip by chilling on one of the inviting sofas with a cup of the house blend espresso and a handmade sandwich. It’s family friendly and dogs are also welcome. By night, there’s a lively mix of community events and jazz evenings, with local ales and ciders available.

Insider’s tips
