This luxury spa hotel oozes indulgence in all of its 50 bedrooms. Many of the light and airy rooms boast private balconies overlooking the estuary, with pashminas to wrap up against the sea-breezes. The team have packed the rooms out with all of life’s little luxuries; you can while away the morning with the provided binoculars and plan future seafaring adventures in between sips of complimentary gin or sherry.

When you can tear yourself away from the spectacular views, slink down to the harbour spa where stresses and strains can be eased away. What better way to do so than to indulge in its ocean spa ritual. Lasting just over two hours, this would make those on Cloud 9 feel envious. Plunge into the glittering pool or lounge in the sauna until your mind is as clear as a consommé.

Take your choice of the two restaurants for some well-earned sustenance. With menus created by award-winning Chef Alex Aitken, you are in safe hands for a sensational meal whichever option you choose. The Jetty restaurant overlooks the water’s edge, and is home to the Crustacean Bar. The chefs’ confidence in offering the fresh daily catch served in simple and delicious ways scooped them a place in The Times Top 20 Seafood Restaurants 2016.

There’s something for all appetites, with plenty of nibbling dishes and sharing boards alongside bowls of hearty main meals. What’s more, it’s affordable too, with two courses for £15.95 or £19.95 for three. Choose from Mediterranean classics such as Greek salad, Salcombe crab bisque, or seafood linguine, perfect with a glass of champagne from the extensive sparkling menu.

While you’re at it, treat yourself to a traditional afternoon tea, before watching the day melt away with a sundowner on one of the many outdoor terraces.
