Small Street Espresso

Quirky coffee destination loved by Bristolians

Tucked away on a side street, this tiny espresso and brew bar is loved by in-the-know Bristolians, who make it their regular pit stop in the city for coffee pulled through the sky-blue La Marzocco. There’s a rotating selection of guest espressos and filter coffee from top roasters including Square Mile, Nude and Extract, with useful tasting notes on the wall.

Although the team here is serious about coffee, the vibe is cosy and friendly with rough hewn wood, bare brick walls and a good smattering of caffeinated reading. Complement your beverage with freshly made sourdough sarnies and locally made treats such as salted caramel brownies from Bosh, and carrot cake from Hart’s Bakery.

Great for coffee to-go, there are also a few seats inside or you can perch on the handmade benches outside.

Insider’s tips

Ask for a ‘hit and go’ – a £3.50 hit of guest espresso while you wait with a flat white or piccolo to go. It’s not on the menu.
