Stylish dining with spectacular sea views
The Nare is a privately owned, elegant country house hotel with the family ever present and personally involved.
In 1989, the late Mrs Bettye Gray bought the hotel and set about creating a standard of luxury previously unavailable in Cornwall.
Over the last decade Bettye’s grandson, the hotel’s current owner, Toby Ashworth has maintained a traditional feeling of unstuffy elegance.
This is not a designer hotel. It’s a comfortable place to relax and unwind away from the cares of the world – enjoy afternoon cream tea, read the papers and snooze in a comfy sofa before dining in style in one of the hotel’s two sea view restaurants.
The Quarterdeck at The Nare has spectacular sea views over Gerrans Bay and is the perfect place to meet family and friends for a relaxed lunch on the sheltered terrace or stylish evening meal in the restaurant with its classical yachting décor.
The hotel has always been a big supporter of local farmers and specialise in locally reared beef and fresh caught seafood.
The Nare’s impressive wine cellar is extensive with wines from all round the world selected and laid down by Toby Ashworth.
