Michelin-starred team take over The Rectory in Wiltshire

The Rectory

Award-winning chef Rob Weston appointed executive chef of the Cotswolds hotel and restaurant

A completely new kitchen team has been brought in to overhaul the eating experience at The Rectory and its sister pub The Potting Shed, both located in the Cotswolds village of Crudwell. Accomplished chef Rob Weston – formerly of Michelin-starred La Trompette in Chiswick – has come onboard as executive chef, bringing with him a crack team of culinary talent.

New Zealand born Tarryn Bingle will lead the kitchen at The Rectory as head chef. Training in New Zealand before relocating to Australia to work with Mat Moran at Aria in Sydney, Tarryn has spent the past nine years cooking alongside Rob at La Trompette.

Taking on the head chef role at The Potting Shed is Alex Tropp, who worked his way up to head chef at La Trompette under Rob. Born in Australia, Alex learnt the ropes at this parents’ Italian restaurant before building his CV at several of the country’s top restaurants.

Rob is passionate about using homegrown produce and work has already started on expanding the vegetable gardens at The Rectory. The chef also has plans to introduce daily house-breads to supplement the team’s simple yet elegant seasonal menus.
