Indie wine and spirits retailer Wickhams scoops prestigious accolade at the International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards 2022

Devon-based indie Wickhams was awarded Specialist Merchant of the Year England at the International Wine Challenge Merchant Awards 2022 on July 7. Up against heavyweights such as supermarket giant Waitrose & Partners, Wickhams’ win is recognition of its growing success and status as one of the best stockists of English wines (something for which it was praised by the judges). The online wine merchant was also shortlisted in the Online Retailer of the Year category.

Founder Dan Farrell-Wright said: ‘We are absolutely delighted to win this award. We are a young business but have come out of the blocks fast and are clearly pressing the right buttons in a sector renowned for its knowledgeable and demanding audience.

‘I set up Wickhams late in 2020 specifically to sell the kind of wines I like to drink myself and to provide excellent service to wine consumers across the UK.
