Bristol-based chef Genevieve is on a mission to get the nation cooking outside this year – whatever the weather. The founder of Bristol Fire School has released a shelf-worth of cookbooks which have inspired foodies to experiment with all manner of foods over flames, but her latest is bringing it back to basics and showing cooks of all abilities what can be done with a simple kettle barbecue.

Foolproof Barbecue features 60 failsafe recipes you’ll want to share with friends and family this summer. Genevieve has put her own spin on classic barbecue dishes – think fennel and lemon burgers with grilled aubergine, and spiced lamb kofte with saffron and tahini – as well as innovative ideas such as spiced apple french toast with whipped cream.
