Cornwall’s Rock Oyster Festival is back on July 30 – August 1 for three days of music, food, outdoor adventures and wellness to shake off any lockdown blues

Eating, drinking and dancing are top of the agenda at Rock Oyster Festival this summer with headliners Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Nick Mulvey, Gilles Peterson, Dub Pistols, Soul II Soul, Jaguar Skills and Olivia Dean taking to the stage, as well as pop-up restaurants and chef demos hosted by Paul Ainsworth.

From 2021, Rock Oyster Festival will be hosted by a different chef every year. This year Paul Ainsworth is at the helm and will be joined by a showcase of chefs including Valentine Warner, Josh Eggleton, Juliet Sear, Ping Coombes, Gill Meller and Michael Caines MBE who will be cooking with him beside the Camel Estuary.

A handful of Cornwall’s best-loved restaurants will be popping up in The Chefs Tipis across the long weekend, giving festival-goers a chance to taste dishes from the likes of Paul (The Mariners in Rock), Andi Tuck (St Kew Inn near Bodmin) and John Hooker (The Cornish Arms in Tavistock). Great British Menu favourites Jude Kereama, Guy Owen and Nick Beardshaw will also be hosting throughout the weekend. 

Outdoor adventures are a big feature of this year’s festival with paddle boarding, canoeing, archery, wild running and foraging walks to choose from. There are also miles of breath-taking walks surrounding the festival site and incredible Cornish beaches just a hop, skip and a jump away.
