Win a bottle of artisan Dartmoor Gin

The prize: One of five bottles of Dartmoor Gin 1890
Win a bottle of Dartmoor Gin
Closing date: August 31, 2022

Did you know that you no longer have to actually be in Devon to experience the spirit of Dartmoor’s clear, cold streams, weathered granite tors and tussocky, heather‑carpeted hills? That’s because the team at Dartmoor Whisky Distillery have captured the wild vibe of the moor in its new artisan gin.

Dartmoor Gin 1890 is the new spirit crafted by the spiritsmiths at Dartmoor Whisky Distillery, the crew who made a name for themselves creating Devon’s first single malt.

Founder Greg Millar created the botanical blend with his daughter Abby to embody the magic of their many hours exploring Dartmoor in summertime. He says: ‘The gin was inspired by our passion for local Dartmoor ingredients, and we used our summer walks in the Devon countryside to guide the taste.’

The 40% ABV of the juniper‑forward London Dry gin is well balanced and reveals subtle hints of Dartmoor honey and pink peppercorns. Fifteen botanicals are used in total and include rose petals, rosemary, elderflower, Dartmoor honey, lavender and hand‑picked Dartmoor gorse blossom. The gin also features the spirit produced from the master whisky still and Dartmoor spring water.

When it comes to serve style, this is a gin that loves a mixer and the distillers suggest serving it with Franklin & Sons Rosemary & Black Olive Tonic Water and garnishing with lime and fresh rosemary.

Fancy taking a virtual tour of the moor in summertime via a long and icy G&T in your own back garden?
