Net zero hotel voco Zeal Exeter Science Park launches in Devon’s capital
Eco-conscious travellers planning a trip to Exeter will be pleased to learn they can find sustainable, contemporary sojourn at the newly launched vovo Zeal Exeter Science Park. Designed to operate entirely on renewable and solar energy, the destination promises to generate more energy than it consumes.
The hotel is the result of a partnership between IHG Hotels & Resorts, Zeal Hotels and Valor Hospitality and is located on the outskirts of the city centre at the entrance of Exeter Science Park – the South West’s centre of activity for businesses in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine.
Guests staying in one of the 142 modern rooms can make the most of hotel facilities including a gym, gardens, and a restaurant that champions the use of fresh, seasonal ingredients which have been sourced from regional farms and nearby producers. Those visiting with an electric car won’t need to fret about running out of juice either thanks to 12 EV charging points at the net zero hotel.
General manager Barnaby Kean says: ‘I am thrilled to be able to open the doors to guests and prove not only that it is possible to prioritise sustainability during construction, but also while operating – and all without diminishing the guest experience.’
