From Dorset to Cornwall, wineries are scooping up silverware
Langham Wine Estate has been awarded the Sparkling Wine Producer Trophy at the International Wine & Spirits Competition for the second time in five years. The Dorset-based estate’s latest IWSC win further cements the reputation of not just English wines but those of the South West.
Justin Langham, managing director at Langham Wine Estate, said: ‘We try to keep things simple, stay firmly grounded, pay close attention to detail, and respect natural processes and the environment. Our small but dedicated team (pictured above) works together seamlessly, and are focused on a single goal: to produce the very best sparkling wines possible.’
This week has also seen plenty of gongs dished out to fellow South West wines. At the WineGB West Awards, Cornwall’s Trevibban Mill stole the show by scooping three trophies: Best Sparkling Rosé – for its Pinot Noir cuvée, Best Alternative Wine – for its skin-contact wine Orion, and Best Producer in the South West.
Tom Mumcuoglu of Trevibban Mill shared his excitement on Instagram, saying: ‘What a fantastic end-of-harvest treat. Congratulations to all friends for an outstanding line-up of wines, West really is BEST.’
