The Manor House in Ditcheat, Somerset is set to reopen this summer as it becomes the seventh addition to the Chickpea Group’s portfolio of cracking country pubs with rooms
The trio behind Chickpea Group – siblings Ethan and Jordan Davids and friend Tommy Tullis – have just announced the latest milestone on the culinary trail they are blazing. The Manor House will join Chickpea’s other success stories (which include The Bell & Crown in Zeals, The Grosvenor Arms in Hindon and The Dog & Gun in Netheravon) and will be their first venture in Somerset.
‘We are so excited to head west and get stuck into the Somerset food and drink scene,’ says Ethan Davids. ‘The Manor House is a truly beautiful pub with cosy nooks and plenty of outside space. It offers everything we look for in a Chickpea country boozer.’
The team are currently in the process of refurbishing the charming 18th century pub, which is packed with period features and enjoys views of the surrounding Mendip Hills. When it opens in June, The Manor House will feature seven stylish bedrooms, a cosy bar with beamed ceilings and open fires, and a beer garden.
As you’d expect from a Chickpea pub, food will be a focal point at this Ditcheat destination. In addition to exec chef Harry Russell’s pub menu showcasing fresh West Country wares in simple-yet-hearty dishes, The Manor House will also host a separate nole pizza kitchen, serving its favoured sourdough pizzas.
The wine list will be curated by wine merchants Gardner and Beedle, alongside beers from Rude Giant Brew Co – both Wiltshire-based – among others.
The pub has always been incredibly well-supported by the local area, so we hope people are as excited about our plans as we are,’ adds Ethan. ‘We’re buzzing to meet our new locals at the bar – the first one’s on us!’
