Call off the last-minute supermarket egg hunt. Instead, guilt-free gorge on a luxury Easter egg crafted by a South West chocolatier
The Nook Cheltenham
The bougie eggs from this Cheltenham restaurant and deli are made to order by The Nook Cheltenham’s pastry chef and resident chocolatier, Marjolaine Boutegroud.
Three lip-smacking products make up the carefully considered range: a traditional hollow milk chocolate egg, a bag of assorted artisan mini eggs, and a complete gift set combining all the good stuff.
We’d recommend plumping for the latter so the Easter treats – and chocolate bliss – can be eked out all weekend long. Start by cracking open the sizeable painted egg, delighting in its 40 per cent cocoa balanced with pure cocoa butter. Then dial up the flavour via the mini eggs, which showcase luscious notes of blood orange and dark chocolate, knafeh and pistachio, hazelnut praline, and solid milk chocolate.

A cocoa purist? Nibble through the Tanzania Easter egg. This hand-painted beauty is crafted from 75 per cent single-origin cocoa, balancing acidity and intense bitterness with a gentle floral lift.
Craving something in between, or something that flirts with flavour trends? Perhaps the dark honeycomb, caramel mocha, black forest cherry, or Dubai chocolate will do the trick.

Josh’s Chocolate, Cornwall
Good luck stopping at just one of Josh’s dark chocolate and zesty orange mini eggs. These handmade bite-size treats may be small, but they’re wildly moreish.

The Chocolate Society, Somerset
The Chocolate Society’s flat white Easter egg is certainly one for the grown-ups. However, it may spark a childlike reluctance to share.
The upmarket egg is inspired by the Bruton chocolatier’s flat white coffee bar, complementing white chocolate crema with the kick of espresso and the bite of dark chocolate for swoonsome results. It also comes with six truffles to boot.
More of a tea drinker? The returning tea and biscuit blonde Easter egg is the one to go for. Straddling the white and milk fence, this unique blond chocolate is infused with bergamot oil and peppered with crunchy biscuit pieces.

Chocolarder, Cornwall
It’s not Easter without snaffling hot cross buns slathered in salted butter and scoffing oval-shaped chocolate. So, we recommend fully giving in to the pleasures of the season with this almighty Easter egg from Falmouth’s favourite chocolatier.
The 50 per cent milk chocolate egg is laced with cinnamon and nutmeg, and studded with dried fruits and toasted breadcrumbs. Yum.
More tempting creations include the 50 per cent milk honeycomb; 70 per cent dark chocolate with almond and sea salt; and 50 per cent milk stroopwafel.
