Cornwall’s pioneering coffee roastery reveals new purpose-built hub in Porthleven
For 15 years, Origin Coffee has spearheaded the Cornish speciality coffee movement from its Helston HQ. This month the roastery is striking out for the coast as it moves to a new purpose-built hub in Porthleven.
The new HQ will house the roastery as well as a cafe, workspace and industry-leading technical and training facilities.
‘The roastery will be a central hub for all things Origin, where our team can work, socialise, drink amazing coffee, enjoy organised activities and grow as individuals,’ said Tom Sobey, owner and founder of Origin .
‘We’re also expanding our quality control procedures and providing further training opportunities for our wholesale partners. Courses will also be available to anyone who wants to learn more about speciality coffee from our industry-leading professionals,’ he added.
Locals and regular visitors to the foodie town will already be familiar with Origin and its top-notch coffee as the company opened its first cafe there in 2015. The new hub is the latest addition to the six Origin cafes in Cornwall and London, including the recently announced collaboration with Rick Stein in Padstow.
