South West residents, listen up! We’ve found a stress-free and eco-friendly solution for disposing of this year’s Christmas tree
After the fairy light filled festive season, come the dark days of deciding how to dispose of your spent and dried out Christmas tree. It’s almost enough to make you buy a plastic one, where all you have to do is hoist it into the attic for another 12 months.
One thing is certain: you can’t stick it out the front of the house with the rest of the rubbish. But here’s the good news: you can recycle your tree easily this year with a tree recycling service that’s a collab between Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) and Biffa.
Covering the whole of the South West, the service offers a stress-free, eco-friendly way to dispose of your tree while supporting a worthy cause. For a small donation for the removal of the tree, you can make a meaningful contribution to CHSW, which helps families with life-limited children.
A donation makes a real difference: £10 can fund materials for messy play, allowing children to express themselves creatively; £20 helps fund precious moments in the hydrotherapy pool for families; £30 supports music therapy sessions to help children communicate their emotions; £40 covers scrubs for nurses and carers; and £100 can help parents get a well-deserved, uninterrupted night’s sleep.
To take part, simply register on the CHSW website and schedule your tree collection. Not only will you recycle your tree, but you’ll support a very worthwhile charity.
