Spill the tea: how much caffeine is too much?

We’ve all been there – it’s early morning, your alarm is blaring at you, telling you to get out of bed. What’s the first thing you do? Reach for the caffeine, of course. But how much caffeine is safe?

Daily guidelines of caffeine intake

So, how much caffeine is too much? Well, it will depend on a variety of individual factors. You see, everyone’s body is different, and therefore we won’t all respond to caffeine in the same way. For example, some people can enjoy a large cup of coffee late at night and still have a restful night’s sleep, while others can have a small latte and feel buzzed for hours.

However, that being said, there are guidelines that you should follow when considering the safety aspects of how much caffeine you can consume per day.

  • Children: no more than 45mg-100mg per day. This will also depend on their age.
  • Pregnant women: no more than 200mg per day. However, keep in mind that this is a guideline and you can discuss your specific needs with your doctor, such as your weight and medical history.
  • Adults: the generally agreed-upon amount of caffeine per day is 400mg for healthy adults.

Alternatives to caffeine

No, we aren’t asking you to give up your beloved coffee. But here are some great alternatives to try, such as herbal tea, fruit smoothies, juices, cordial, sparkling water or CBD products https://alphagreen.io/collections/cbd-gummies.html that are known to help improve focus as well as reduce anxiety.
