Add a shot of rum or sloe gin to this mulled cider recipe from Thatchers for a twist on a classic

Thatchers Gold cider 2 litres
Orange, lemon and apple 1 of each, sliced
Star anise 2
Cloves 5
Cinnamon sticks 2
Sliced ginger 8
Soft brown sugar 5 tbsp

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a pan and simmer gently for around 30 minutes, be careful not to boil.
  2. Serve with a shot of rum or slow gin and an obligatory a mince pie on the side.
